So, this year I didn't want to go to Disney because I've exhausted all angles of their 4th of July fireworks, so I wanted to test another location. I didn't get a front and center for the fireworks themselves, but somehow I managed to get two shows instead! A Fireworks show, and a Lightning show!!! 🌩️🎆
This was my first time shooting lightning, and I loved it! Timing was a lot trickier than fireworks, but the strikes were between 10 and 15 seconds apart, so I managed to get a few good ones!
The day started with storms in every direction you looked! I had a photoshoot in Reddington Beach, and when I left, the clouds were closing in, so I went to the beach for a few minutes, and it looked amazing! Two storms were about to merge and create a major downpour!
Later, I took the kids to the pool, and the storms continued to pop up from every direction. (This is a cell phone shot; I didn't take my DSLR to the pool.)
This is what it looked like when we left the pool; Lightning was everywhere, so we had to leave. (Not a cell phone shot)
After we left the pool and headed back to the beach, a rainbow ensued, so I stopped on the side of the road to capture it. (These two images were taken with my phone)
Sunset did not disappoint either! It was pretty epic!
The storm on the right-hand side of the photo above produced some amazing lightning strikes!
Overall, the kids and I had a great evening!
