Real estate photography is more than just capturing images straight from the camera. Every home presents unique challenges—lighting, shadows, colors, unwanted objects, and even weather conditions all play a role in how a space is portrayed. Our goal is not to make homes look unrealistic but to accurately represent them in the best possible way. Since cameras alone cannot always capture a home as the eye sees it, additional lighting is often needed. However, time constraints don’t always allow for extensive lighting setups, making photo retouching essential to achieving a natural, visually appealing, and true-to-life result.
Below are a few examples of images I’ve retouched for my clients. While not every photo requires extensive Photoshop work, each one benefits from enhancements that make it more appealing to potential buyers. Some of my edits include simulating sunsets, digitally repainting homes when the owner couldn’t complete it before the shoot (such as the fourth image, where I matched the provided paint color), removing yard signs, and addressing various other imperfections. One of the most common requests is removing street wires, which are nearly impossible to avoid, along with sky replacements to compensate for unpredictable weather.
